Janice Glaab

Janice GlaabJanice is a 27-year veteran of the California and national political and public affairs scene. Her specialties include health care regulatory work, political consulting, as well as public outreach education and advocacy for the firm’s clients. As head of the firm’s health care public affairs practice she has led efforts for our health care clients.

Janice served for five years as an appointee of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as a Board Member on the State Board of Registered Nursing. She served as Legislative Chair in 2009.

Prior to establishing G&A, Janice served as an appointee of Governor Pete Wilson in the position of Associate Secretary for External Affairs for the Health and Welfare Agency. As the state’s top public affairs official for health and welfare issues, Janice served as primary health care spokesperson for the administration. She managed public affairs activities for the 12 health departments in the agency, the largest state agency in the nation with over 42,000 employees and annual budget of over $45 million. She directed external communications, media and strategic issue positioning and planning for health and welfare issues for Governor Wilson.

While with the Wilson Administration, Janice served as the on-site coordinator for Governor Wilson for the 1996 Republican National Convention in San Diego. In that capacity, it was her responsibility to ensure convention requirements as host Governor and host state were met. She worked closely with the Republican National Committee, the Republican Governors’ Association, as well as the Governor’s Office in Sacramento. During the convention, she was responsible for leading the team responsible for all media efforts marketing the California delegates to state and national media.

At the Governor’s request, Janice Served as Political Director for the California Republican party during the Governor’s 1994 re-election.

Before joining the Wilson Administration in 1991, Janice was with the California legislature for seven years. She served as political director and director of member services for the Assembly Republican Caucus, where she coordinated political strategy planning and candidate development for legislative campaigns statewide. In this capacity, she directed all assembly races statewide, directed Caucus funds to various races statewide and coordinated ongoing statewide strategy. She also directed Caucus Member Services staff in their efforts to provide legislative and constituent services to Republican legislators.

While with the Assembly, she served as Chief of Staff for Assemblymembers Pat Nolan, Tricia Hunter and Chuck Quackenbush. She served as campaign manager for Assemblymembers Pat Nolan, B.T. Collins, Tricia Hunter, Dean Andal and Chuck Quackenbush.

Prior to joining the Assembly in 1986, Janice was Director of Operations for Market Opinion Research, a national political polling and consulting firm in Detroit, Michigan. In that capacity, she directed the firm’s division that provides phone banking and home phoning programs to statewide campaigns nationwide. She directed the firm’s efforts for Bush Cheney 1984 in Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana and Illinois. She also directed the efforts for Texas Senator Phil Gram in 1984, Texas Governor Bill Clements Re-election in 1984 and Texas Governor Bill Clements 1980.

Janice, a California native, graduated from San Diego State University with a B.S. in Marketing.
